There seems to be a constructive effort underway to pollute our waters worldwide with oil. In addition to the BP disaster, five other oil "notable spills" have been reported in the last four months alone. Is this just coincidence or is there dilberate sabotage taking place? If we accept the former, how many more oil disasters will it take before we all realize that they're not coincidences.
Why are oil spills suddenly occurring within a short time period all over the world? Just this year, the environment has taken an unprecedented beating from the oil industry. The frequencies of oil spills, leaks and disasters are pacing at an alarming rate.
Gulf of Mexico
On 20 April 2010, methane gas from the Deep Horizon Drilling unit, under high pressure, shot all the way up and out of the drill column, expanded onto the platform, and then ignited and exploded. The explosion killed 11 platform workers and injured 17 others.
Since then media censorship and evidence of foul play by BP has become increasingly evident. Now more than 30 facts explain what really happened in the Gulf of Mexico and how the devastation serves investment bankers to advance geopolitical and financial agendas.
The worst case scenario estimated by experts is a depletion of half the world's oxygen and tsunamis resulting from vast quantities of methane which could result from the explosive force should the gas be ignited.
One of the greatest threats involving the spill is the chemical dispersal agent Corexit 9500 being sprayed on the entire coastal region of the Gulf. The dispersant gases are destined to travel across the Eastern U.S. and Canada destined to negatively affect half the land mass between the two countries (almost 1 million square kms) by resultant toxic rain.
On June 8, 2010, the Wall Street Journal reported that oil has been leaking into the U.S. Gulf of Mexico from Taylor Energy-owned oil wells. Business insider reported just a few days earlier that a satellite analysis by a blog SkyTruth had identified what looked like a smaller oil discharge coming from a rig located a few mile from the Mississippi Delta.
On June 20, 2010 AFP reported on an oil spill off the Egyptian Red Sea coast of Hurghada threatening to damage marine life in the area.
Egyptian authorities appeared to try to cover up the spill which is occurring off the Hurghada Red Sea coastal resort, and is already fouling the pristine beaches there as well as posing a great threat to some of the most beautiful coral reefs in the world, off the coasts of Israel, Egypt, and Jordan. The government says the spill is contained, but activists, the Associated Press reports are saying something else.
According to AP, environmental activists said yesterday that an oil spill off the coast of Egypt’s Red Sea is continuing even after the government said it had been contained, leaving turtles and sea birds covered in oil.
Accident? If so, why us there such a blatant effort to cover up the spill?
Denmark's Environmental Protection Agency said on June 23, 2010 that an oil spill has been observed at the Maersk Resolute drilling platform in the Danish sector of the North Sea.
The spill was estimated to be 130 cubic metres of oil -- equal to roughly 820 barrels of oil -- and covered an area of around 6 kilometres, the agency said in a statement.
US-Canada - Indiana to Ontario Pipeline
China's largest reported oil spill emptied 1,500 tons (roughly 400,000 gallons or 1,500,000 liters) of crude oil into the Yellow Sea when two pipelines exploded at the port on July 16, 2010.
An official warned the spill posed a "severe threat" to sea life and water quality as China's latest environmental crisis spread off the shores of Dalian, once named China's most livable city.
The oil had spread over 165 square miles (430 square kilometers) of water in five days.
The accident has halted work at the depot run by the China National Petroleum Corporation, China's largest oil company.
Coincidence? This is the same Chinese government that kills political dissidents, censors the internet, and initially lied about culpability in scandals over poisonous pet food, poisonous milk, contaminated pharmaceuticals, and toxic drywall.
On July 26, 2010, mainstream reports began to surface about a spill from a pipeline carrying oil from the US state of Indiana to Ontario, Canada. The spill emptied more than 800,000 gallons (3m litres) of oil into a creek which flows into the Kalamazoo River in Michigan.
U.S. Rep. Mark Schauer, D-Mich., said Enbridge was slow in alerting federal authorities of the spill. But the company said in response that the perceived delay was due to a misunderstanding of the timing of when the leak was discovered and regulations about reporting such spills.
It is now consider largest oil leak ever in the state of Michigan — and possibly in the entire Midwest.
As in the early days of the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, estimates of the amount of oil released vary, with the company claiming a lower number than the government.
A spokesman for the firm running the pipeline, Enbridge Energy Partners, said a malfunction had caused the leak.
The oil originally spilled into the Talmadge Creek in Calhoun County, Michigan, north-west of the Kalamazoo River.
The 30-inch (76cm) pipeline carries 8m gallons of oil per day between the towns of Griffith, in Indiana, and Sarnia, in Ontario.
A pungent odour now hangs over the Kalamazoo River valley, local media report.
Officials say the oil slick has reached 16 miles down the river and has killed fish and endangered wildlife in the region.
Still think they're all a coincidence? Consider the following quote:
In the magical universe there are no coincidences and there are no accidents. Nothing happens unless someone wills it to happen.
