Apple Pie Smoothie Recipe


For a truly healthy smoothie, it's always best to blend your own rather than a quick stop at your local smoothie bar. Not only can you load your own ingredients to your liking, but you'll avoid high sugar, chemical laden mixes which have become very popular due to taste and processing convenience. This apple smoothie gives you the best of both worlds, high on vitamins, antioxidants and great taste.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp apple pie spice mix (recipe below)
  • 1/4 cup of your favorite nut butter
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup (optional)
  • Ice (optional)


Apple Spice Mix
(makes about 3oz)

  • 4 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp all spice
  • 2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1.5 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom
