Health Canada Launches Billion-Dollar Marijuana Farm Program While Government Continues To Criminalize Users
September 30, 2013 | GovernmentAbuse | M.Torres
"Don't grow weed, that's our job" says the Conservative government of Canada. They're launching a billion-dollar industry this week, as they phase out the old medical marijuana program for a new one which will license large-scale marijuana farms. By next year, there will be a free market in medical marijuana in Canada, but only for licensed growers who follow government certification programs.

Despite Thimerosal (Mercury) Ban Imposed By The FDA, 60 Percent of All Flu Vaccines Still Contain This Deadly Neurotoxin
September 30, 2013 | Vaccines | D.Mihalovic
Although the FDA gave a two year deadline to remove thimerosal from vaccines after the deadly neurotoxin was banned in 1999, they continue to appear in vaccine formulations to this day. The FDA now supports thimerosal in up to 60 percent of flu vaccines, many which are approved for children for the 2013/2014 flu season.

Total GMO Ban To Be Considered By Russia Within Weeks
September 29, 2013 | GMO | N.Longo
As one of the few nations in the world with a GMO-free platform, Russia does not allow any cultivation of GMOs for commercial purposes. Their regulatory agencies recently suspended the import and use of an American GM corn following a study suggesting a link to breast cancer and organ damage. The Russian Prime Minister has now ordered the same agencies to consider a possible ban on all GMO imports into Russia.

Nanotechnology Just As Big A Threat As GMO Needing Desperate Labelling
September 27, 2013 | Nanotechnology | M.Torres
We are now very conscious to ingredient exclusions in our foods and cosmetics. No-GMO, no-dairy, no-gluten, no-soy, no-artificial flavors or colors are just a few of the warnings we look out for on labels. However, one very important and often overlooked warning is no-nanotechnology or non-nano. Nanoparticles that enter the circulatory system are implicated in arteriosclerosis, blood clots, arrhythmia, heart diseases, and ultimately death from heart disease. Should these particles enter other organs, such as liver, spleen, etc., they can lead to diseases of these organs. Like GMO, the labelling of nanotechnology in food, agriculture and cosmetics is desperately needed to help increase awareness of this technology which has societal implications. Above all, it will give people the choice of accepting or refusing products made through nanotechnology.

Why Over 400 Species of Bacteria In Your Belly Right Now May Be The Key To Health or Disease
September 27, 2013 | HumanBody | K.Foster
Trillions of bacteria are hostile and can cause disease, while many others are friendly and have established a symbiotic, mutually beneficial relationship with us over the millennia. These friendly bacteria have also been referred to as "probiotics" and are being used increasingly by mainstream clinicians for both preventive and therapeutic purposes. The literal translation of the word probiotic is "for life." A growing number of studies suggest that part of what determines how the human body functions may be not only our own genes, but also the genes of the trillions of microorganisms that reside on and in our bodies.

Melatonin Controls Our Cycles, Mood, Reproduction, Weight and Even Cancer
September 26, 2013 | Antioxidants | D.Mihalovic
Melatonin is a wonder hormone that is far too underrated in terms of its dynamic effects on our health. It can control everything from our sleep/wake cycles to our reproduction, weight, mood and even strong anti-aging and anti-tumor effects. Melatonin is found in many foods such as mustard, goji berries, almonds, sunflower seeds, cardamom, fennel, coriander and cherries. However, it also easily absorbed through quality supplementation in therapeutic doses.

How The USDA Organic Standard Allowed Fluoride To Contaminate The Organic Label
September 25, 2013 | Toxins | A.McCarthy
There are many reasons to no longer trust the USDA organic label, however history gives a good lesson on why you should never confide in this government agency. The original standards proposed in 1997 by the US Department of Agriculture's (USDA) revised rule on National Organic Standards (NOS) was first finalized in 2000. The standards first proposed included proposals to use sewage sludge, irradiation, antibiotics in livestock, and genetically modified organisms. The USDA withdrew the proposal after receiving over 275,000 comments from the public-- the most comments received on any US agency proposal in history. In the final NOS, the four practices listed above were left out, but unfortunately, despite opposition, those public concerns about fluoride were ignored. To this day, the organic standards allow the use of the toxic sodium fluoride in organic agriculture.

A-W Burgers Bamboozle Customers With Deceptive Claims of Chemical-Free Beef
September 25, 2013 | Toxins | N.Longo
The latest rubbish coming out of fast food burger chain A-W, is that they use pure beef raised without any added hormones or steroids. Please don't be fooled by this pathetic attempt at gaining market share from the ever growing demographic of health conscious consumers. The implication here is that the meat is free of chemicals. While they may not use added hormones or steroids, they do use antibiotics, vaccines and medications making every cattle raised in these so-called natural environments as polluted as the next.

Laser Printers and Photo Copiers Release Invisible Toxins Which Cause Inflammation And Oxidative Stress
September 24, 2013 | Toxins | A.McCarthy
Without laser printers or photocopy machines, how could we ever reproduce hard copy literature? For starters, the world is becoming more digital by the month making these outdated forms of technology a non issue for the most part. We still do need them, but at what expense? Laser printers and copiers emit large amounts of ozone -- in fact, you can often smell the ozone if the photocopier is in a small room. Ozone is produced by electrical discharge through air; it's the smell associated with electrical arcs and badly maintained motors. It's also highly toxic. Small nanoparticles from these machines break down and irritate the eyes, the respiratory system, the mouth, and can cause itching. It can also cause headaches, nausea and premature aging of the skin. If you work somewhere where you notice a strange smell around the photocopiers, you're being exposed to dangerous levels of these particles which can have a long-term impact on your lungs.

Consumption of Artificial Sweeteners Linked To Choosing High-Calorie Alternatives In The Future
September 24, 2013 | Toxins | N.Longo
It is hard to fool the brain by providing it with "energyless" artificial sweeteners. The results of a new study indicate that our pleasure in consuming sweet solutions is driven to a great extent by the amount of energy it provides. The greatest rewards in the brain are attributed to sugars compared to artificial sweeteners which offer only short-term pleasure at a huge health cost.

The Tantra of Truth - Pioneering The Sacred Music Paradigm
September 23, 2013 | Consciousness | D.A.Hall
We are born as music: our heart pounds a steady rhythm that changes in response to different experiential textures. All of our bio-chemical-psychic systems, in fact, are constantly expressing rhythms and frequencies, acting in an extraordinary integrative fashion that brings to mind the idea of a great organic symphony. Music is but an expression of these deeper harmonies, both subtle and gross, and gives us a chance to express the inherent beauty of nature through wonderful means. There is no art as immediate as music. It shifts, transports, alters us in an instant because it speaks to our own essence as vibrating spirit; as cosmic flow.

Why You Can No Longer Trust The USDA Organic Label
September 19, 2013 | GovernmentAbuse | N.Longo
"USDA Organic" is simply a marketing term those who take government ethics at face value. The goal has always been to increase agricultural sales, not promote organic farming. The public seems to confide in this label through sheer ignorance. The National Organic Program (NOP) which governs the "USDA Organic" label has no interest in organic farming, improving soil, quality of the produce, or factors that pollute the environment. In another blow to their organics program that will further downgrade consumer confidence, the USDA announced this week that the agency has changed the process for exempting otherwise prohibited substances (such as synthetics) in food that carries the "organic or "made with organic" label. This decision makes it easier to continue use of artificial ingredients and substances, undermining integrity of the organic label.

Out of Over 400 Compounds Analyzed, Red Grapes and Blueberries Are Tops In Boosting Immunity - So Effective They Work As Well As Drugs
September 18, 2013 | Immunity | M.Pochelli
Pterostilbene, an antioxidant produced by plants has been shown to exhibit exceptional properties in fighting infections, cancer, hypertriglycerides, as well as the ability to reverse cognitive decline. It is believed that the compound also has anti-diabetic properties. In an analysis of 446 compounds for their the ability to boost the innate immune system in humans, researchers in the Linus Pauling Institute at Oregon State University discovered just two that stood out from the crowd. Red grapes and blueberies both have an exceptional ability to significantly impact immune function. In fact, pterostilbene works as well as some commercial drugs.

10 Steps To Growing Cannabis Safely and Efficiently In Your Own Home
September 17, 2013 | NaturalLiving | M.Torres
There are many medicinal herbs that grow well indoors and cannabis is one of them. Well over a dozen U.S. states now allow you to grow your own cannabis plants for medical reasons with Oregon being the least restrictive with up an allowance of up to 24 plants. In Canada, medical users are permitted up to 35 plants depending on the prescription. For those who want to grow their own plants and have the space and resources, an indoor green area can grow a beautiful array of cannabis buds. However, due to the stigma attached to the plant, and the smell, even if it is legal to grow it, for safety and security reasons it's often in your best interest to grow cannabis in a sheltered area away from prying eyes.

Committees on Vaccination Found To Withhold Critical Data On Adverse Reactions From Both Parents and Health Practitioners
September 16, 2013 | Vaccines | D.Mihalovic
Deliberately concealing information from the parents for the sole purpose of getting them to comply with an "official" vaccination schedule could thus be considered as a form of ethical violation or misconduct. That's exactly the behavior exhibited by health authorities for the last 30 years. Official documents obtained from the UK Department of Health (DH) and the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) reveal that the British health authorities have been engaging in such practice, apparently for the sole purpose of protecting the national vaccination program.

We're Running Out of Infectious Diseases, So Let's Make A Cancer Vaccine
September 15, 2013 | Vaccines | D.Mihalovic
The title is utterly absurd, I know, but not if you're a vaccine manufacturer looking for another cash cow. Treating cancer with a vaccine has been a wet dream of scientists for decades. It's not often you have a disease that affects 50 percent of the population at some point in their lives. However, just like every other disease, cancer is not something that can be treated with chemicals and foreign DNA--a concept few vaccine scientists will ever admit to. Vaccines that attempt to thwart cancer cells will always prove better in theory than in practice, and researchers are finally understanding why.

What Are The Results of Anti-Bullying Programs In Schools? More Bullying Of Course!
September 15, 2013 | ChildHealth | M.Torres
I've been predicting the results since their inception. Anti-bullying programs and campaigns have been operating in schools for well over a decade. Now the evidence is clear...they don't work! A new UT Arlington study finds that students attending those schools may be more likely to be a victim of bullying than children at schools without such programs. The finding runs counter to the common perception that bullying prevention programs can help protect kids from repeated harassment or physical and emotional attacks when they do precisely the opposite.

The Diet Dictocrats Told Us To Drop Butter and Look What Happened
September 12, 2013 | Nutrition | N.Longo
The Diet Dictocrats told us to drop butter decades ago and switch to a so-called healthier substitute called margarine made with what they claimed would be less harmful polyunsaturated fats. Their promise was it would prevent disease. People around the globe questioned this advice, especially those who have valued butter for its life-sustaining properties for millennia. Today we know that butter is light years healthier than margarine ever could be. It's a lesson to never go against the wisdom of our ancestors and always distrust corporate and malicious propaganda designed to generate profits not health.

Food Pyramid Illustrates How Foods Rise In Toxicity As They Become More Processed
September 12, 2013 | Nutrition | M.Chan
A food processing pyramid designed by Udo Erasmus perfectly illustrates how processed foods rise in toxicity and potential health dangers as we move from the bottom, based on raw foods, to the top of the pyramid based on hydrogenated, superheated toxic foods which promote disease.

This Ingredient Is Found In Most Cereals, Breads, But It's Also Found In Foamed Plastics and Rubber Too
September 10, 2013 | Toxins | N.Longo
Why would it be necessary for the food industry to use the same additive in breads and cereals as what the chemical industry uses in the production of foamed plastics, synthetic leathers and rubber? We have been assured by our health regulatory agencies that azodicarbonamide is safe for use in our foods. If that's the case, then why has it been banned in Europe, Australia and the United Kingdom?

Although Marijuana Smoke Contains Many of The Same Constituents as Tobacco Smoke, It Does Not Adversely Affect The Lungs
September 10, 2013 | Prevention | M.Torres
I'm a huge advocate of using cannabis in its purest form to maximize its therapeutic benefits. Smoking it should be your last resort to achieve the array of health benefits is has to offer. However, a large-scale national study suggests that even moderate use of marijuana is less harmful to usersí lungs than exposure to tobacco, even though the two substances contain at least some of the same components.

Why Low Salt Diets Increase Risk of Death and Cardiovascular Disease
September 8, 2013 | Nutrition | D.Mihalovic
The pharmaceutical industrial complex has had great influence in scientific journals, medical literature and consequently Physicians in promoting the idea that salt is a baddy. Contrary to public perception, the reason the mantra of "eat less salt" has been advocated so strongly in decades past was due to the higher risk associated with cardiovascular disease which increased profits for pharmaceutical drugs. The proof as they say is in the pudding.

The Number One Cause of Health, The Number One Cause of Disease
September 6, 2013 | Consciousness | M.Forrester
As a society the center of our interest related to the human body is on disease care. We have misplaced our focus on figuring out all of the ways to defeat disease that we have forgotten our natural state which is health. We have been so poisoned and conditioned to believe that we have no option but to experience disease in our lives, that invariably this is what materializes and becomes our reality, not only individually, but as a society. Can we live disease-free and in excellent health? Absolutely. But you have to believe it is possible and align yourself with natural laws to ensure that health, and not disease, is a primary goal.

He also discusses the toxic ingredients in vaccines such as formaldehyde, mercury, aluminum and MSG and the detrimental effects they have on the brain and nervous system. Dr. Blaylock also touches on other vaccine-related topics, such as the conflicts of interests influencing vaccination policy due to the influence the pharmaceutical industry exerts on the government and the pharmaceutical industry, the polio epidemics in Africa, mercury toxicity and other medical scandals.

Do You Know How Hot Dogs Are Really Made?
September 4, 2013 | JunkFood | M.Torres
We all know that hot dogs are not the healthiest food, but many people will consume them regardless. What's the harm in consuming a few frankfurters here and there at BBQs, sporting events and gatherings right? Everything in moderation right? Unsuspecting consumers have no idea what really constitutes a hot dog. Even workers at hot dog factories say it's an unpleasant business. Arguably one of the most processed, industrial foods in the world, Americans eat almost 200 million hot dogs in the summer months alone. There's nothing like appetizing meat mush mixed with powdered preservatives, flavourings and red colouring. Most who consume hot dogs regularly likely don't care much about their health, but for those who think an occasional hot dog won't hurt you, get informed about the industry and you may change your mind.

Why Juicing Does Not Compare To The Full Nutritional Spectrum Of Consuming Whole Fruits
September 1, 2013 | Nutrition | M.Pochelli
Fiber slows the rate that sugar is adsorbed into the bloodstream. When you eat foods high in fiber, such as whole fruits, the natural sugars are absorbed slower, which keeps your blood glucose levels from rising too fast and then falling rapidly. According to new research, published in the British Medical Journal, eating more whole fruit may help to lower your risk of developing type 2 diabetes, while increased consumption of fruit juices may be linked to higher risks.
