Quebec Woman Dies After
Receiving H1N1 Vaccine
A 42-year-old Quebec woman has died from complications after receiving
the H1N1 vaccination two days before coming down with symptoms of
the flu.
It is the third death in the province since September.
The woman, who worked at the Monteregie Health and Social Services
Centre, died Tuesday night.
She had received the H1N1 vaccine on Oct. 29, which may have
lead to complications leading to her death six days later.
Public health officials said the woman was not a nurse or front
line worker who was in contact with patients.
Montreal public health agency officials have altered their vaccination
plan and have now stated that even those who are in good health
should be vaccinated - but they will have to wait their turn.
The H1N1
Arepanrix Vaccine being used in Canada was approved on October
21, 2009 without any conclusive results from clinical trials and
without
evaluating its safety on a single Canadian
